There will be a benefit music show at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium on May 19th from 2pm until 5pm to help raise funds for Brecken, the granddaughter of Steve & Rita Straub. Ticket price is whatever amount you would like to donate and 100% of donations will go to the Straub family to assist with medical costs.
If you are a singer or a musician and you would like to be a part of this benefit, please call Dale Reese at 785-214-0013. Everyone is welcome to participate!
Brecken's story: Brecken is a beautiful, smart, seemingly normal 4 year old. At her 4 year well child check, her doctor heard abnormal heart sounds upon exam, therefore referred us for an echocardiogram (pictures of her heart). Then, in a whirlwind of appointments, we discovered that Brecken has a fenestrated ASD. The easiest way to explain this is that her atrial septum (the wall between the upper chambers of her heart) has multiple holes, like swiss cheese. Her defect covers 30mm of the 31mm that her atrial septum measures. This summer, Brecken will undergo surgery to repair all of these holes, so that her heart can function normally.
OMA Box Office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Box Office will open 1 hour prior to doors opening on performance dates. Tickets may also be purchased below. If you need assistance please call 785-242-8810
